Ustawi became an idea in 2019 after one of the founders (Jackie), spent over fifteen hours to get a relative admitted and almost two days to get her discharged from one of the biggest hospitals in Kenya. So why was there a delay in the onboarding and discharge of the patient, you ask? Well the patient records could not be found, the end of the second day of the discharge process became the light bulb moment that ignited the start of Ustawi.

Ustawi’s foundation is that of digital transformation to the 4th industrial revolution for Kenya and Africa as a whole. The founders Jackie and Justus have vast experience in the Web 3 space from diverse areas and they hope to help arm African individuals with the right knowledge and tools to make the move from web 2.0 to web 3.0.
